Profile	Composer of four major operas with Irish poet Paul Muldoon, as well as works for the NY Philharmonic, American Composers Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Gary Graffman, and the Kings Singers, among others. Trained at Juilliard and Curtis, his principal teachers were Leonard Bernstein, David Diamond, and Ned Rorem. Hagen is currently President of the Lotte Lehmann Foundation in New York City.
