Born in Northallerton, I became a chorister in York Minster Choir under Dr Francis Jackson between 1969 and 1973, with the daily round of choral services exposing him to an immense and diverse repertoire. I also studied choral conducting with John Coates and, after many years of experience, now pursue a varied musical career as a Conductor and Choral Director, Composer, Arranger and Publisher and Author.
In addition, I enjoy performing recitals on piano, harpsichord and organ and have played at many events throughout the world. I also run music workshops, singing days and holidays, as well as composition courses and a choir consultancy and a range of other specialist musical services - visit my website to find out more - www.timknightmusic.com.
I have previously held the post of Music and Festivals Office to the National Association of Choirs and I am presently Chairman of the Royal School of Church Music Committee in the Ripon and Leeds Area. Recently, I acted as a judge in the Canco Mediterrania International Choir Competition in Barcelona. I am also Principal at the Yorkshire College of Music and Drama in Leeds.
