Violin Workshop March 06

Claudio Viggiano -Realidad

Claudio Viggiano's Realidad contained double stops throughout. The piece was notated without slurs so Susanne played a version chaning the bow on every note (meaning the lower note also re-sounded each time). She then made a second version in which she only changed bow when the 'accompanying note' changed. We felt this second version was more successful.

Susanne said she would have liked more markings for dynamics and feel as the piece could have been played in a number of different ways and it was not entirely clear from the notation what the composer wanted.
