Eric Maestri's "On half-harmonic stop and flautato bowing" contained a numer of technical challenges, including the instruction to play
some notes as 'half harmonics'. The separate mp3 below discusses the section in line 3 and Susanne displays the various options regarding
flautando, sul tasto and other markings. The instruction flautando/flautato tells the player to use a light fast bow, which is contradicted by Eric' bowing markings in this passage.
That aside, many of the effects in the piece worked very well.
