We have a visual way of telling stories & often explore physical theatre combined with poetic text. To find out more, visit standbytc.com THE SHOW Crossed plays a part in an ongoing conversation around identity, exploring connections to our given names & delving into the reasons we make changes. We will take inspiration from real stories, looking further into issues surrounding gender identity & feeling uncomfortable in your own skin, resulting in a professional piece of touring theatre that will challenge preconceptions towards this topic. THE ROLE We’re looking for a composer to help us to find a unique sound for this show. As our work sits within Physical Theatre and Spoken Word performance styles, we would like the music to work alongside these elements. We also hope to create a version that can be performed in non-theatre spaces, working with a team able to experiment with these possibilities. To request an example of our work, please email hello@standbytc.com SCHEDULE & LOCATIONS R&D will take place January-March 2020 where you will visit a couple of rehearsals to get a sense of the work. We will perform at scratch events, able to experiment with music. The show will be touring in 2021 so composing can run later than March 2020. Rehearsals will be taking place across Lincoln, Stamford & Peterborough so we have a particular interest in hearing from composers based in the East / East Midlands. FEES We have set aside £1,300 for a composer during this phase but we anticipate we may need more time to work on composed elements after March 2020.
