Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Composition, 0.25 FTE, in the Department of Music. Start date: January 2020.

The music department at Royal Holloway has an established and internationally recognised reputation for diversity in its curriculum, excellent teaching, outstanding commissions and performances in composition, and world-leading research in musicology and ethnomusicology.

The post-holder will join a team of four composers who work in a range of creative styles and practices. They will teach composition at undergraduate and postgraduate level, supervise research students, contribute to examinations and assessment processes, provide pastoral support of students, and play a role in the administrative functions of the department.

The successful candidate will be a professional composer working in contemporary notated classical music with a growing national and international profile. They will have experience of teaching composition at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It is also desirable that they should be able to contribute to the performance of new music (as director, instrumentalist or vocalist).
