The Municipality of Corteolona and Genzone, in cooperation with the Associazione I Solisti Laudensi and Iberclassica Artists Agency, announces the first edition of: “GAETANO AMADEO PRIZE 2019” The competition is open to all musicians (even amateurs no professionals) of any nationality without age limits. The competition will take place in Genzone from 25 to 28 September 2019. RULES The eliminatory phases, semifinal and final, will take place from 25 to 28 September 2019 in Genzone. The final will consist of a public concert to be held in the church of Santa Maria della Neve in Genzone (Italy). Eligibility: The competition is open to all musicians (even amateurs no professional), of all nationalities and without age limits. Registration phase: Applications can be sent from 15 May 2019 to 15 September 2019 Candidates of the CATEGORY D (AMATEURS NO PROFESSIONAL) can submit a video link EVEN BY SMARTPHONE if they cannot participate in the eliminatory rounds (25 and 26 September). SCHEDULE FOR CANDIDATES PRESENT IN THE ELIMINATORY PHASES: Candidates will be informed by e-mail within 20 September 2019; the names of the candidates will also be published on the website. The competition is structured as follows: First eliminatory round: September 25th. Second eliminatory round: September 26th. Semifinal: September 27th. Final: September 28th. Each competitor / Ensemble will have a maximum time of 10 minutes for the test. Category A PROFESSIONAL ORGANIST: Gaetano Amadeo: Compulsory piece for solo organ A free choice piece suitable for the Amati organ Category B PROFESSIONAL CHAMBER MUSIC MUSICIAN: A free choice piece suitable for the Amati organ for: organ and voice /organ and instrument / organ and various ensemble Category C FOR COMPOSER: A piece for solo organ / organ and voice or instrument / ensemble (also choir) with organ must be sent in PDF FORMAT by e-mail to: amadeoprize@gmail.com Category D AMATEURS NO PROFESSIONAL: A short piece for solo organ/organ and voice or instrument/ensemble with organ. Candidates of the CATEGORY D (AMATEUR) can submit a video link EVEN BY SMARTPHONE if they cannot participate in the eliminatory rounds (25 and 26 September). DETAILS OF THE VIDEO FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT BE PRESENT AT THE ELIMINATOR PHASES of 25 and 26 September: The video can contain a repertoire of any historical period, for solo organo or any kind of ensemble with both vocal and instrumental always accompanied by organ. The video must be played in streaming mode (the video must not be downloaded and can also be of a short piece. The final is open to 3 competitors in category A and B. Competitors must play in the final concert which will take place on the same day and which will be an integral part of the competition. The winners will be announced at the end of the final concert, with the audience present. The musicians of category D, chosen by the commission can perform during the final concert at their discretion. Those who have passed the elimination phase will receive a certificate of participation. The final rounds of the competition will be open to the public and managers of international artist agencies will be present. |
