Closes: 20th August 2018 Location: North East Type: Part time Salary: Paid (£15k-20k pro rata) Artform: combined arts, theatre Contact: Betsy Picart betsy@filskittheatre.com Filskit Theatre are seeking a Composer / Sound Designer to collaborate with us on a brand new piece for children aged 3-7. Stella is an original story about a young woman's quest to reclaim the night, to keep the stars shining bright and to save her home. Using projection, clowning and aerial circus, we want to talk about our sky. We’ll explore how light pollution means that Stella no longer hears our stories and how sometimes it is important to turn out the lights and wish upon a star. Stellahas been commissioned by ARC, Stockton and The Barnsley Civic. This piece will be devised by the company using research from the International Dark Sky Association and verbatim text gathered during workshops with local schools. Our ideal collaborator will… - Be based in the North East - Have a current DBS check - Have knowledge of QLab - Have access to recording equipment - Have experience of devising work as part of an ensemble Availability: School workshops will take place during October and December 2018. Rehearsals will take place from 21st January - 21st February 2019 with performances taking place from 22nd February 2019.
