Details: The 2nd Biennial I Creation / Mivos Quartet Prize for Chinese Composers 2015 is now open for application, in the hope of promoting the works of talented emerging Chinese composers around the world.

Emerging Chinese composers in the early or middle stages of developing an international career, regardless of their current country of residence, are invited to apply. The Prize will be an excellent career opportunity for budding composers to acquire an international reputation.

All entries should be written for two violins, one viola and one cello, submitted with a cover letter, artist’s resume, a full score, programme notes and an optional recording of the piece. The work should not exceed 30 minutes in length and the usage of electronics or other media is not accepted at this time unfortunately.

All entries should be submitted through email to icreationprize@gmail.com before 30 August 2015, 11:59pm EST. A maximum of 5 finalists will be notified by 15 September, 2015 and within two weeks, the winner of the competition will be announced.

The winner will be awarded a cash prize of USD1000, and the winning piece will be performed by the Mivos Quartet in New York City during the 2015/16 season, as well as at the prize-winning concert in Hong Kong.

The 1st Biennial I Creation/ Mivos Quartet Prize was held in 2013 with enormous success. More than 100 submissions were received from all over the world.
