LPO appoints Mark-Anthony Turnage composer-in-residence
The London Philharmonic Orchestra has appointed Mark-Anthony Turnage as composer-in-residence. The role will include work with the LPO's education department and its recording label, as well as writing additional works for premiere.The role is the latest in a long-line of distinguished positions, including residencies with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony, and English National Opera.
The first work to come from the residency will be the world premiere of Turnage's saxophone concerto Hidden Love Song, to be given in the upcoming season.
