Profile José Guillermo Puello is a Dominican composer currently studying towards a Ph.D. at the University of Manchester. His research is focused on the integration of Dominican elements, with the western contemporary classical music tradition.
Puello is also inspired by Dominican culture – from the music and its rhythms and melodies to the traditions and legends. This fusion of musical traditions gives his music a distinctive and recognisable character.
