Profile Anthony Hernandez (b. 1987) attended Hermitage High School, where he was awarded first place in the Hermitage High School Talent Show for an original composition, Outstanding Senior Award in Music for his contributions to his school`s music program and has had the pleasure of accompanying the Pomme de Terre Community Choir. Upon graduating in 2005, he enrolled at the University of Missouri. He is the recipient of the Friends of Music Scholarship and has been on the Dean`s List every semester during his undergraduate studies. Mr. Hernandez is a junior studying music composition, and his composition teachers are Dr. Stefan Freund and Dr. Thomas McKenney. He has had several compositions performed publicly and several of his recent compositions will be premiered in the near future. His primary instrument is the piano and is studying with Dr. Julie Knerr. Currently, Mr. Hernandez accompanies Hitt Street Harmony, a select ensemble in the School of Music, devoted to vocal jazz performance.
