Michael Jennings was born in 1978. He began his musical education as a chorister at Westminster Abbey. Having been a music scholar at Uppingham School he went on to read music at Edinburgh University, where he studied composition with Marina Adamia and Nigel Osborne.
He has had works performed by Liverpool Cathedral Choir, the choir of the Chapel Royal, St. Dennis Brass Band and the Soho String Quartet. In 2004 Michael was invited to write a piece for the Royal Maundy Thursday service at Liverpool Cathedral. Recent commissions include a piece for the opening of the new Lifeboat station in Padstow.
A versatile musician, he is comfortable working in different musical styles. He has worked with artists such as Massive Attack, Terry Callier and Andrea Corr as a string arranger and conductor and also writes music for films and animations.
