Profile Knehans has been the recipient of numerous commissions, prizes and awards and in 2002 his work seraphic ride was premiered at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. In 2001 he was invited to contribute a new composition to the 8th Incontri di Musica Sacra Contemporanea concerts throughout southern Italy and Rome with his work shoah requiem for SATB soloists, SATB choir and orchestra.



Knehans took up the post of Thomas James Kelly Professor of Music at Univ of Cincinnati in 2008.
