In an earlier incarnation Lola composed broadcast television soundtracks; however she fell into a preferred lifestyle of working in isolation on acoustic compositions, searching for a sound she could call her own.
She began her solo piano series ‘Rave Music for Butterflies
To date there are 3 piano suites in the series:
I Early One Sunday Morning (about a painting by Edward Hopper)
II 9 Images for Piano (inspired by the world of Ansel Adams)
III Perpetual Motion
IV Fragile Ice Spaces (in progress)
Since launching her new sound late 2003:
been offered a film score by Canadian writer/director Renny Bartlett, to be filmed on location in The Arctic during 2005
started collaborating with Thomas Gray (American video artist, recent work includes installations for The National’s production of Philip Pullman’s ‘His Dark Materials’, and the forthcoming ‘Lord of the Rings’ stage production. To view their work please see the link on the links page.
