 09 May 2010 at 12.00pm until 0.00am

Karlheinz Stockhausen KLANG

Philharmonie, Cologne

Germany

musikFabrik and guests

On one weekend (8th and 9th of May 2010 from 12pm until midnight), the ensemble musikFabrik along with many guests will perform Karlheinz Stockhausen's cycle KLANG, in which he intended to compose music for the 24 hours of the day, for the first time in its entirety. In nine different venues in Cologne the various "Hours" can be heard, six of them for the first time. This kind of "wandering" concert gives the members of the audience the opportunity to individually decide which "Hours" it wants to hear. There will be one ticket for each day, valid for all performance venues. Whoever is able to attend both days will have the first opportunity to experience all 21 of the "Hours" that Stockhausen composed. Experience Karlheinz Stockhausen's last work at the MusikTriennale Cologne 2010!

Performance venues:

Cologne Philharmonie
Klaus-von-Bismarck-Saal, WDR Funkhaus
Kleiner Sendesaal, WDR Funkhaus
Praetorium
Domforum
KOMED-Saal at the Mediapark 7
Studio of the musikFabrik (In the Mediapark 7)
St. Andreas
Christuskirche

A joint project of the MusikTriennale and the musikFabrik.

A Combi-Ticket for both performance days is available for € 40 at the Philharmonie-Hotline +49 (0)49-280280, at KölnMusik Ticket and KölnMusik Event. The world première of the entire cycle “KLANG, the 24 Hours of the Day” by Karlheinz Stockhausen is supported by the Kunststiftung NRW (Art Foundation North-Rhine-Westphalia) and the Kulturstiftung des Bundes (Federal Cultural Foundation). The media partner is the Kölner Stadtanzeiger.
