Concert Artists Guild and Meet The Composer are proud to announce a new joint initiative, The
Performer/Composer Collaborations Project, underwritten by the Cheswatyr Foundation. In its first year,
the initiative will introduce three new chamber music works. On Wednesday, November 5, 2008 from 2 to 4:30
pm at Merkin Concert Hall, located at 129 West 67 Street, the public is invited free of charge to an informal
works-in-progress showing and a question & answer session co-moderated by pianist Ursula Oppens and
composer Laura Kaminsky.
The musicians have been selected from the CAG roster and the composers have been chosen in consultation
between CAG and MTC. In a further effort to ensure the success of each new work, mentors have been
invited to guide the performer/composer units. Each group will enjoy private coaching sessions on the
morning of November 5th, prior to the afternoon’s informal works-in-progress showing and Q&A session. The
official evening of premieres is May 21, 2009 at the Thalia Theatre at Symphony Space.
