Oliver Knussen, a great admirer and interpreter of Maxís music, conducts his choice of Maxís works. Revelation and Fall sent shockwaves through the musical world in the 1960s. Blind Manís
Buff, from the 70s, is an intricate puzzle of identities. And in the recent De Assumptione Beatae Mariae Virginis, Max reflects on ideas of the Virgin Mary down the ages, questioning the medieval notion of the Virginís physical ascent into heaven. What emerges is a profound symphonic experience.
