Augusta Read Thomas (b. 1964), one of today's freshest young voices, writes music with extraordinary poise and fiery passion. She is the recipient of many honors and awards and has been championed by Pierre Boulez, Mstislav Rostropovich, and other noted conductors. This concert focuses on her works for soloist and ensemble, including the New York premiere of In My Sky at Twilight, and features Miller favorites Alarm Will Sound, called "the future of new music" by The New York Times.
