Description
New Zealand-born, Scottish-based composer Lyell Cresswell describes his new work, the title of which is Maori for 'labyrinth', as a concerto for orchestra in which the instruments and ideas are treated as tesserae in a mosaic, assembled to catch the light at different angles.
Lyell Cresswell's Ara Kopikopiko was made possible by the award of the first Elgar Bursary, which is administered by the Royal Philharmonic Society.
