Description
The composing of A Passion Prelude was very much an organic process, coming together note by note over a one year period. Other than the deliberate use of the continuous running 16th note rhythmic figure, no other compositional devices were used in the making of this music.
I think the best way to describe the atmosphere of A Passion Prelude is to quote Andres Segovia’s thoughts on the guitar itself: “the beauty of the guitar resides in its soft and persuasive voice; its poetry cannot be equaled by any other instrument”.
With this in mind, I dedicate this prelude to my wife, Catherine.
