Description
unfinished, 7' ~ this first movement plays with black note/white note combinations, slight rhythmic shifts, and form. The motives have tight chromatic relationships, and the recapitulation inverts the motives, inverts ideas (what was pretty is now ugly, etc...), and infuses new ideas introduced in the development. Inspired by Shostakovitch and Beethoven.
