Born in Northallerton, Tim Knight (www.timknightmusic.com) became a chorister in York Minster Choir under Dr Francis Jackson between 1969 and 1973, with the daily round of choral services exposing him to an immense and diverse repertoire. Tim also studied choral conducting with John Coates and, after many years of experience, now pursues a varied musical career as a Conductor and Choral Director, Composer, Arranger and Publisher and Author.
In addition, Tim also enjoys performing recitals on piano, harpsichord and organ and has played at many events throughout the world. He also runs music workshops, singing days and holidays, as well as composition courses and a choir consultancy and a range of other specialist musical services.
Tim has previously held the post of Music and Festivals Office to the National Association of Choirs and is presently Chairman of the Royal School of Church Music Committee in the Ripon and Leeds Area. Recently, Tim acted as a judge in the Canco Mediterrania International Choir Competition in Barcelona. Tim is also Principal at the Yorkshire College of Music and Drama in Leeds.
