Sianed Jones is a composer and performer working primarily with extended techniques for voice and violin. She studied music at Dartington College of Arts, and went on to perform and record with many of the major figure in improvised music, including Peter Cusack and Max Eastley. In 1989, she co-founded, toured and recorded with 'slant', with writer-performer cris cheek and turntable artist Phil Jeck. She completed her MMus in electroacoustic composition with Simon Waters at UEA in 1997.
Her research into vocal performance has taken her to Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar and Mongolia. She has worked as a collaborator in many cross-artform projects with choreographers, writers, filmmakers and performance artists.
