ATLANTHALYS Quintet
Cet ensemble est constitué de jeunes musiciens qui partagent la même passion pour la musique de chambre moderne. Ils se produisent dans plusieurs grands orchestres, l’orchestre de Bretagne, l’orchestre des Pays de Loire, l’orchestre de l’Opéra de Paris, de l’opéra de Rouen, l’ensemble orchestral de Paris etc…
Défendant une démarche de création, ils interprètent des œuvres originales situées aux frontières de la musique contemporaine et du Jazz.
Le Quintette Atlanthalys est une véritable famille de cœur, dont la jeunesse, la fougue et l’amour de la musique donnent à leurs spectacles une chaleur et une lumière inoubliables.

Gilbert Bescond Biography
Gilbert Bescond Born in Brest, France in 1956.
After studies of social sciences he dedicates himself to the music. He follows the CNED musicology courses (Nationnal center for distance learning). He soon composes his first songs which he plays in concert within his jazz quartet. In 1991 he sets up his quartet which will represent Brittany at 'jazz sous les pommiers', a competition organized by Radio-France in Coutances. In 1995 he forms 'Gilbert Bescond trio' with whom he performs. In 1998 his first album 'Les terres invisibles' is distributed by 'Night and Day' and published by M.C.T. This album of compositions has been awarded by «selection FIP » & « disque du mois Jazzmag »He performs with Daniel MILLE, Emmanuel BEX, François LAIZEAU and many of the french jazz musicians. The year 2002 he starts writing a string quintet with double bass, which was recorded in December 2005 by the Atlanthalys quintet.The same year he begins the writing of symphonic pieces, string trio, and piano sonatas. Today he works with « Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne » writing two «contes symphoniques» 2007 / 2008. He also works with with the national school of music / Brest writing a «concerto pour clarinette & orchestre à cordes » which will be performed at Constanza / Roumanie in 2008.
