KEITH BUCKNER Born in Dearborn MI in 1957 to Lester and Alice Buckner and grew up in Garden City. Keith is the youngest of three kids-brother Bob(Lester) and sister Marie. Participated in school athletics and band and choir. He was awarded the God & Country Medal in Boy Scouts by then President Richard Nixon. By the age of seventeen, Keith was playing keyboards professionally and in the next 30 years played with such notable musicians as Majesty, Street Theory, Steve King and the Dittilies, Dennis Charles, Jimmy Ruffin, Stuart Franke and the Point, The Ten Speeds, Little White Lies, and Mickey Quattro. Concerts with Chuck Berry, Jan and Dean, Ricky Nelson, Iron Butterfly, Bachman-Turner-Overdrive, Rod Stewart, and Sha Na Na-to name a few. Disabilities forced Buckner off the 'road' and he worked in marketing with The Detroit Symphony Orchestra while gigging on weekends and attending school. He received an AA in Liberal Arts/Music from Schoolcraft College in Livonia, and both a BM in composition and a MM in comp/music theory from Wayne State University in Detroit. He is currently President/Composer with PSMP (Prentis StreetMusic Publications) and has received numerous commissions and awards. His most famous works include: Prentis Street Sonata, Kamchatka, and Churches of Detroit(Organ Suite No.1)
