The competition is open to all composers without restriction and there is no application fee. Pieces submitted do not need to be newly written, but they must be unperformed. Please email us first to obtain the full details and to register your interest. Contact: alan.taylor@dpmail.co.uk You are invited to write for one of our two wind ensembles, based in London, UK; a Clarinet Choir or Wind Nonet. You can express a preference but may be allocated a group by the moderator to ensure a balance of entries. Each ensemble is formed of good amateur players and has their own conductor. SUBMISSION Pieces should be no longer than 7 minutes and must follow the instrumentation specified upon registration. Scores and parts must be received by midnight on 31st December 2019. SHORTLISTING Our ensembles will play through all the pieces received and a shortlist of six pieces (three for each ensemble) will be chosen by the members of each group. THE FINAL This will take place during our concert in March 2020 and all successful shortlisted composers are invited to attend. The six shortlisted pieces will be performed by their respective ensembles and the audience will vote to select the winner. THE PRIZE The composer of the winning piece will receive a certificate and announced across our social media platforms. |
