Synchromy Announces a call for scores for Harp Duo

Synchromy Announces a call for scores for Harp Duo
Summary:Harp duo competition
Deadline: 27 September 2019
Date Posted: 06 August 2019
Details: Synchromy is looking for chamber scores that incude two harps. The winning score will be performed as part of a concert we are planning for Spring 2020 in Southern California.

Eligibility
• Composers of any age and nationality are invited to submit their scores and recordings (submissions with recordings are preferred).
• Original compositions written in the last 15 years (unpublished or self-published)
• Length up to approximately 12 minutes
• Instrumentation: Works must include two harps. They can also include up to two other performers. The more unusual the other instrumentation, the more difficult it will be for us to program the work, so we suggest sticking to readily available instruments.
• Composers can submit only one piece for our consideration. The piece may have been previously performed.
• We only accept electronic submissions.
• Any submitted score which does not include two harps will neither be acknowledged nor considered for programming.

Please submit the following materials to synchromysubmissions@gmail.com by Friday, September 27th, 2019
• Full score in .pdf format. This is not an anonymous call, please leave your name on your score.
• Recording, if available (attach mp3 file) MIDI realization converted to an audio file is acceptable)
• Short CV, resume or bio (pdf file)
• Your contact information (email, phone, physical address, link to your website, if available)
• Performance history for the work, including dates, locations, and performers.

There is no fee to apply for this call for works and no compensation will be offered to selected composer if his/her piece is selected for programming by Synchromy. Synchromy may choose to include any submitted piece on our future concerts without further compensation to the composer.

The selected composer will be notified via email by October 1st. At this point the composer will be asked to provide parts (electronic .pdf files or printed and bound scores) free of charge via email or post by March 1, 2020. The selected composer’s attendance is not required but encouraged. The coverage of travel and other expenses cannot be offered, but a limited number of complimentary tickets for the concert will be provided to the selected composer in attendance.
