2018/2019 Competition Information
Competition opens January 2018
Eligibility of Applications:

The Future Blend Project 2018 / 2019 is open to all composers, regardless of age, sex or nationality.
All submitted pieces must be new works, unpublished and unperformed.
Each composer can submit as many compositions as they wish in their application.
Compositions by more than one composer are not eligible for application.
Length: Minimum 3 minutes, up to 10 minutes (10:00)
Instrumentation: Harp solo only
There is a one off £5 entry fee.

Aims and Objectives of the Competition:

From all entries, ten (10) compositions will be selected for performance, which will be premiered at the 4th Hidden Gem Concert, in January 2019, in the Competition finals. Among the 10 finalists, there will be two winners.
One Judges Choice Award and an Audience Award.

Prizes

Judges Choice Award
- £200 cash prize
shared between composer and harpist
- Your work published by PoppyHarp Publishing.
- The opportunity to work with a harpist for 5 months on your piece and a performance of your piece at the Hidden Gem Concert 2019.
Decided by 3 composition and harp adjudicators.

Best Collaboration Award
£200 cash prize to be shared with the performer.
Your work published by PoppyHarp Publishing.
The opportunity to work with a harpist for 5 months on your piece and a performance of your piece at the Hidden Gem Concert 2019.
Voted for by audience votes.

Finalists

Selection Procedure:

The competition will be held in two rounds: preliminary selection of the compositions and the final concert – Competition Finals.
1) Preliminary selection of the works for the Competition Finals:
A distinguished international jury of harpists will select ten (10) pieces out of the applications received for the Competition. These works shall be the Finalists in the competition.
The decision of the Jury and the list of the pieces shortlisted for the Finals shall be published by August 1st 2018, on the www.futureblendproject.co.uk website. Within a week following the publication of the list of Finalists, composers will be paired with the a harpist to work with, throughout the project.
2) Competition Finals:
Ten (10) pieces chosen by the jury will be performed in January 2019.
The winner of the audience vote and the winner of the Judges Choice Award will recieve a cash prize of £200 and a publishing deal with PoppyHarp Publishign.

Submission Procedure:

To submit your entry, please send your piece along with a short biography using the contact form below.

- upload an anonymous of the PDF score
- a short anonymous biography of the composer in English
- a computer simulation or audio file of the piece

Once you have submitted your piece please make sure you pay the £5 years subscription to the Future Blend Project by clicking the button below. If you do not pay your subscription your submission will not be valid.

Judging is blind, therefore composers must remove all identifying labels and printed names from all the above mentioned materials to assure anonymity before the judges.
