Permanent, part-time (0.7FTE)

£33,129 - £43,221 per annum pro rata

The Conservatoire is currently looking to appoint a Lecturer in Composition to teach undergraduate and postgraduate students within the School of Music. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the Head of Department.

You will be an accomplished composer with an international profile, including professional recognition of work through performances. A postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject would be desirable. You should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the expectations of a Conservatoire education together with teaching experience in a Conservatoire (or possibly another HE) context. A higher education teaching qualification is also desirable.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, along with a strong team-working ethic. You must also possess an interest in the development of young people’s potential along with knowledge and experience of music education nationally. An area of specialist expertise as a composer and/or teacher would be desirable. Flexibility and adaptability is also vital to this role.
