Call for Scores: Brass Trio

Description: The organizing committee of the South Texas Brass Symposium is seeking original, unpublished works for brass trio to feature in a recital performance by the Del Mar College Faculty Brass Trio during the annual brass symposium on March 3-4, 2017. The winning composition will receive an opportunity for a premiere performance at the symposium by the Del Mar College Faculty Brass Trio and a live recording of the work.

Eligibility: Open to anyone

Submission Fee: None

Instrumentation: B-flat Trumpet, F Horn, Tenor Trombone

Composition Guidelines: We are looking for a brief piece of music, under 10 minutes, of musical worth and substance that audiences and performers alike will enjoy. The piece should be original and unpublished. All submissions will be judged anonymously with a third-party organizing the materials. So please make sure your name and contact information is included with your submission.

Submission Requirements: Please submit a copy of the score, along with a recording (demo or MIDI is acceptable) by Monday, December 5th, 2016 to:

If sending physical materials, please include the recording on a CD with the score double-sided and bound. If sending materials digitally, please email a PDF copy of the score and an .mp3 recording (or a direct download link) to the email address above. Be sure to include your name and contact information with your submission. The winning submission will be notified by February 1st, 2017. Attendance at the Symposium is not required, but highly encouraged. Any questions or concerns can be directed to Dr. Pinson at the contact information above.
