Details: The International Contemporary Music Cycle MoreLess, sponsored by the National University of Río Cuarto [UNRC - Córdoba], invited to participate in the International Composition Competition to mark the bicentenary of the Declaration of Independence of Argentina (1816-2016).

MoreLess arises in 2012, emerging as a doomed to stimulate the creation and performance of contemporary music in the interior of Argentina, more precisely in the province of Cordoba, casting this production to the rest of the country and the world platform.

The works are winners will be premiered in concert at the Municipal Theater of the City of Rio Cuarto (Cordoba), and in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Cs. Exact, Physical and Natural (Córdoba Capital), the String Quartet UNTREF and renowned Venezuelan violinist David Nunez.

The essay contest will be international in scope, and will be composed by a jury of renowned nationally and internationally: Julio Estrada [Mexico] David Nunez [Venezuela-Chile], Samuel Cedillo [Mexico], Dario Pagliaricci [Rio Cuarto, Cordoba, Argentina] Pablo Araya [Cordoba, Argentina].

Contest rules:
1- The competition is open, regardless of age or nationality.
2- Deadline for submission of works: May 27, 2016
3. The jury will announce the selected during June works (day to be confirmed) on the website www.masmenos.com.ar plus or personally contact the contest winners. The jury's decision is final.
4- The competition consists of two categories:
A) Works for String Quartet (Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Violoncello) - Jurors: Julio Estrada [Mexico] and David Nunez [Venezuela-Chile].
B) Works for Violin Solo - Juries: David Nunez [Venezuela-Chile], Samuel Cedillo [Mexico], Dario Pagliaricci [Argentina], and Pablo Araya [Argentina]
5- Each composer may apply to both categories at once, or one of them. If he chooses to participate simultaneously for the two categories will only be accepted by each participant composer: 1 [one] work for String Quartet, 1 [one] for Solo Violin
6- The works submitted must be unpublished and unreleased or edited discographically
7- The work for String Quartet must have a minimum of five (5) minutes and a maximum of twelve (12) minutes
8- The work for violin must only take a minimum of five (5) minutes and a maximum of twelve (12) minutes.
9- The score must be perfectly legible (published or manuscript), otherwise the jury may immediately disqualified it - The organizing committee will not be responsible MoreLess the return of material sent
10- The contest may be declared void in one or both categories.
11- For each competition category (A and B) will be sent a sealed envelope, which shall include the following:
1) copy of the score in duplicate in the case of the string quartet category (A) and quadruplicate for solo violin category (B) under a pseudonym. a copy of the / s score / s 2 PDF using a digital support (CD or DVD) should also be attached.
2) Another smaller sealed envelope must include the personal data of the author of the work submitted (phone, email address, address and number of ID card or passport).

13- The release date of the works will be held on 09 and 10 September 2016.
14- The winner or winners in both categories will get premiere and live recording of the work, plus a diploma certifying his victory. the possibility of issuing two special mentions for each category of the competition is also contemplated.
15- Any other situation or decision not covered by the terms and conditions of this competition, will be exclusively in charge of the organizing committee and jury moreless cycle, being the same, final.
