Details: Call for works: composers are invited to submit works for the RNCM John Golland Award 2016.

Composers aged 18 – 30 are invited to submit new, or previously unperformed, works for the A4 Brass Quartet (Cornet, Tenor Horn, Baritone, Euphonium), to be given workshop performances on Saturday 30 January 2016, as part of the RNCM Festival of Brass.

Selected works should be a maximum of eight minutes in duration, and up to four works will be selected, depending on length and complexity, for performance on Saturday 30 January by the 2015 winners of the RNCM Christopher Rowland Prize in Chamber Music, A4 Brass Quartet.

The selection panel will also select one composer as the recipient of the third John Golland Award. This will take the form of a £500 sum and an invitation to write a short work for brass band to be performed at a future festival.
