 Cincinnati Camerata Composition Contest
Summary:Choir Competition
Deadline: 01 December 2015
Date Posted: 09 September 2015
Details: Cincinnati Camerata’s annual Choral Composition Competition is now open for submissions!

Here’s how to enter:

Deadlines
Score submission and PayPal payment must both be received by 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time (U.S.) on December 1st. Announcement of winners will occur after the New Year on January 15th. Please remember to check back!

Submission Process
-First, you must complete your $35 donation to the Cincinnati Camerata by clicking the PayPal button shown here.
-After your PayPal transaction completes, you will automatically be forwarded to the page on Cincinnati Camerata’s website where you submit your score. Please read all the instructions on that page before submitting! If for any reason you are not automatically forwarded from PayPal to the submission page, simply email webmaster@cincinnaticamerata.com for help.

Score Guidelines
-One score per entry. Scores must be anonymous! (no markings of your name anywhere)
-Mixed choir (SATB), maximum divisi SSAATTBB.
-Unaccompanied. Please provide a piano reduction. Recordings or MIDI are welcomed and helpful for the jury review, but not required.
-Texts may be sacred or secular. It is suggested that you summarize the text and attribute the author and work from which it is excerpted (if any) at the beginning of your score. Letter of permission from copyright owner must accompany any submissions using texts not clearly in the public domain. We research the text of each score thoroughly! No score can be accepted without text permissions because that opens us to liability in performance or recording. (There are many resources for public domain texts online—one of our favorites is the Public Domain Review.)
-Duration: no longer than 5 minutes.
-Submitted works MAY NOT have been previously published, but may have been previously performed in public.
-Entry fee is $35. The fee must be received through PayPal by 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time (U.S.) on Dec. 1 for your work to be considered. Your receipt from PayPal serves as your confirmation of successful registration in the contest. (If we receive any payment without an associated score submission, we will contact your PayPal email address!)

Eligibility
Applicants may be of any nationality and age.

Prize
$500 and a performance during the 2016-2017 season.
