The Philadelphia Chapter of the American Composers Forum announces its Young Composers Scholarship, awarded annually in the amount of $500 to one high school senior who intends to major in music composition at the post-secondary level.

Requirements
To qualify for the scholarship, a student must:

1 Reside in the service area of ACF Philadelphia, which includes all of Pennsylvania and Delaware, as well as Southern New Jersey
2 Have been accepted as a composition major at any accredited college or university worldwide, with the intention to matriculate
3 Complete a 500-word essay explaining why he or she has decided to study composition (Word, TXT, or PDF file)
4 Offer three examples of the student's composing work to date (via SoundCloud - all genres welcome, including songwriting)
Essay and SoundCloud links are due TBD and should be emailed with complete contact information to: james@acfphiladelphia.org

The winner will be announced by TBD pending verification of eligibility. The winner must agree to be photographed and quoted for public relations purposes and grants ACF Philadelphia permission to publish his or her essay, in full or in part. Submitted materials will not be returned.
