Piecing it Together

 Piecing it Together
Summary:Workshop Day for Composers
Deadline: 07 August 2015
Date Posted: 16 June 2015
Details: Sunday 6th September 2015

10 – 6 pm

PRS for Music

2 Pancras Square, London, N1C 4AG

Do you have a work-in-progress score that you’d like a chamber ensemble to workshop?

If so, we are giving you the chance to digitally submit a 1-5 minute piece/partial work suitable for any combination of 8 piece ensemble (2 violins, viola, cello, clarinet, bassoon, horn and piano).

PRS for Music’s Classical Account Manager, Naomi Belshaw will be partnering with the Berkeley Ensemble* to host the workshop. Your score will not only be performed by the ensemble conducted by Quentin Poole, but will be put through the Critical Response Process** led by Richard Whitelaw from Sound and Music and guest composer Gavin Higgins to allow you to take away positive/constructive feedback on your current composition.

Each chosen piece will be workshopped for 20 – 30 minutes.

Master class & surgeries

The opportunity also includes the chance to speak to PRS for Music staff in a number of surgeries about our website and schemes. We have invited James Hannam from the PRS Foundation and Ben Lane from the Arts Council to run informal sessions on how to improve funding applications.

Plus learn how your score can catch the eye of an ensemble/conductor through a series of informal master classes led by industry expert Robert Percival.

The deadline for entries is Friday 7th August 2015

Please submit your work-in-progress score to Naomi Belshaw, Classical Account Manager:
