Details: St John’s Smith Square is looking for unperformed works for piano duo (4 hands 1 piano or 4 hands 2 pianos), of up to fifteen minutes in length to be workshopped as part of a three-day new-music festival this autumn.

Curated by award-winning pianist and composer Rolf Hind, the Occupy the Pianos festival will explore a rich and varied selection of music for piano(s), instruments, voice and dance. Over its eleven concerts the three-day festival will showcase an eclectic mix of recent work alongside twentieth-century classics by Cage, Ligeti, Adams and Feldman. Highlights of the Festival will include performances of Steve Martland’s Drill, Per Nørgård’s Unendlicher Empfang, John Cage’s Sonata and Interludes, Morton Feldman’s Palais de Mari and Arnold Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire.

Performers include:
Rolf Hind, Siwan Rhys, Adam Tendler, Zubin Kanga, Françoise-Green Piano Duo & Eliza McCarthy

Selected works will be workshopped on the afternoon of 13 September.
