Doncaster Big Sing - Composer / Musical Director
Summary:Composer/Musical Director opportunity
Deadline: 09 February 2015
Date Posted: 28 January 2015
Details: We’re looking for a Composer and a Musical Director with national/international experience to work with a range of local choirs and singers in the Doncaster borough to create an original 10 minute choral composition based on the themes of locomotion, transport and movement.

The final piece will be performed live in Doncaster town centre on the afternoon of Sunday 21st June 2015 as part of the DNweekeND festival. The performance will feature the choirs and singers who have engaged with the making process, as well as offer participatory singing opportunities for people on the day who wish to take part.

It is envisaged that the Composer and Musical Director would engage with local choirs and singers from March 2015 onwards, but the exact timetable will be worked out in consultation with the artist(s).

We welcome expressions of interest from artists based around the country who would be interested in working in Doncaster. We are open to hearing from artists interested in the combined role of Composer/Musical Director – or artists who are interested in the separate roles. We are open to any musical genre interests at this stage.
