For its 9th edition the International Spring Orchestra Festival, Valletta, Malta is organising a composition competition in two categories: Wind quintet and piano Two pianos The winning works will be performed on 7 and 9 April 2015 by the Reigate Wind Quintet (UK) and the Conil-Muzy Two-Piano duo (France) at the National Theatre of Malta, Teatru Manoel. The two winning contestants will each receive €1000, a return flight ticket and accommodation during the week of the festival, 6 to 11 April 2015. The winners will be expected to give a talk about their work to the Music students at the Performing Arts Department, University of Malta. RULES Compositions may have been performed but not been awarded a prize in another international competition The duration must not be less than 5 minutes but not longer than 8 minutes Anonymous PDF scores must be sent to composer@iso-festival.com in the following format : compositiontitle.pdf The content of the email should only include: title of the work composer’s full name contact information proof of payment, €40 entry fee via bank transfer Deadline 7 January 2015 Winners will be announced on the International Spring Orchestra Festival’s website by 31 January 2015.
