Details: In order to stimulate and disseminate the latest musical creation, the Casa de las Américas invites composers of Latin America and the Caribbean to participate in the Composition Prize Casa de las Américas.

The Award is held every two years with the purpose of recognizing works as stated in the official announcement. The sixth edition will take place in April 2015 and will be devoted to works for voice (up four solo) and any format up to nine instruments or sound resources; on the following basis:

1. Participation Latin American composers natural or naturalized.

2 Each author may submit a contest until two unpublished works, which has not been obtained before a national or international award. The criterion corresponds to unpublished work edited and published under agreements or print registration record.

3 Entries may include Latin American popular and traditional instruments, traditional instruments of the Western tradition, electronic and other alternative resources.

4 The duration of the work shall be between eight and twelve minutes.

5 You will be sent under a pseudonym and the organizing committee will keep hides the identity of the composer until the jury has delivered its verdict.

8 The works are identified with the pseudonym of the author (s) and accompanied by a sealed envelope containing the curriculum indicating the composer: pseudonym, full names, date of birth, postal address, email address, title or academic degree , catalog of works and professional performance. Along engraving registration, the composer must provide appropriations and authorizations for execution and recording. In the case of using an authorial text, authorization for use and reproduction shall be provided.
