Details: It is St. Mark's Episcopal Church's 150th year as a congregation! We will be choosing one selection from the entries to be used during a church service as part of our celebration. The winner will receive a prize of $500 and their composition will be performed at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Evanston, IL.

COMPETITION GUIDELINES Requirements:
-The composition should be a celebratory anthem to be sung by an SAB choir.
-It should be accompanied by piano or organ.
-The piece submitted must be between two and a half minutes and six minutes in duration.
-The entry must be an original composition and must not be taken from a larger work.
-Entrant may not submit more than one piece.
-Entrant must be at least 18 years of age.


The list of options below are neither preferred nor required, but rather are options you may choose to employ which are allowed:
-sections of a cappella singing
-addition of a solo instrument to be added as part of the accompaniment (if included, the piece should work with or without this option)
-addition of clapping or percussion instruments
-addition of a melody to be sung by the congregation or small children's choir
-use of a 2 octave handbell choir
-lyrics may be original or from liturgical texts
