YNYC Composers' Competition

 YNYC Composers' Competition
Summary:Choir Competition
Deadline: 01 May 2014
Date Posted: 16 April 2014
Details: Since the spring of 2001, YNYC has commissioned more than thirty new works from rising stars in the choral world. We have given these works world premieres, and awarded more than $20,000 in prizes.

We are excited to continue this tradition of supporting new choral works and are now accepting applications for the 11th Annual Competition for Young Composers. All applicants must be under the age of 35 as of June 31, 2015. Based on a sample of their work, three finalists will be chosen to compose an original work for our June 2015 concert. Entrants may live anywhere; a small travel stipend is available for non-New York composers to workshop their pieces prior to the performance and attend the premiere. The Grand Prize winner of the Nathan C. Davis Prize in Composition will receive $1,000, and the second and third finalists will receive $500 each.

Applicants should submit a sample of their work for consideration by May 1, 2014.
