Details: The ACT Branch of RSCM Australia has announced details of its
2012 composition competition. There are two sections:

- Choral composition
- Keyboard composition

Choral compositions should be a work for unaccompanied choir (SATB) which
is based on Psalm 147 (or part thereof). The composition must include the
first and seventh verse of Psalm 147. The composition should be able to be
sung by an average church choir with limited time and resources. The
version of the Psalm used is at the discretion of the composer. The
composition should be no longer than five minutes.

Keyboard compositions should be a work that is a variation (or variations)
on the melody of Tallis' Canon. The composition should be no longer than
five minutes, and be suitable to be used in a liturgical format (eg as a
postlude for Evensong or in the place of an anthem). The work can be
written for any keyboard instrument.

Prizes: $150 AUD for each section
Entry Fee: $10 AUD (RSCM Members), or $25 AUD (non-members)
